About Dr. Robert C Wheatall Dr. Robert C. Wheatall graduated from Illinois College of Optometry with a Doctorate of Optometry degree, O.D., in 1982. Prior to attending Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Wheatall attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he obtained an undergraduate degree in Biology and graduate education in Biochemistry. He has been in private practice in Butler, PA since 1982. He has assumed the practices of two of his retiring colleagues, Dr. A. Neil Kerns and Dr. Gerald Zucker. This has given Dr. Wheatall the opportunity to work with respected mentors and provide ongoing care to the patients in their long established practices. Over the past twenty-five years much has changed in the practice of optometry. Dr. Wheatall continues to introduce new options in eye care as they become available. These include advances in the treatment of eye diseases, new contact lens designs, care associated with refractive and cataract surgery, and eyeglass lenses. He looks forward to helping you achieve clear, comfortable vision with healthy eyes. When Dr. Wheatall is away from the office you may find him training or racing a triathlon, gathering information on his ancestors, listening to classical music or camping with his family. He is also a member of the First United Methodist Church where he is involved with several ministries.
